Man arrested following searches in Heights area

POLICE in Coleraine carried out searches at four properties in the Heights area last Tuesday.

During the searches a number of items were seized and a 45-year-old man was arrested.

A sum of cash was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act during the searches. Police believe, at this stage, that the items were supporting a money laundering operation.

Police also seized a large quantity of illegal fireworks and a car during the searches.

The man has been released on bail and police enquiries are ongoing.

DUP MLA Adrian McQuillan welcomed the police operation, he said: “I would like to congratulate the PSNI on another successful operation in the Coleraine area.”
