Open viewing at Social Club

COLERAINE fans will get their first view of the new bar complex at The Showgrounds next week.

The much-anticipated 'Open Viewing' evening, on on Thursday, July 2, is the culmination of several months of hard work and is another significant area of redevelopment by the Bannsiders' Management Committee.

Committee member Nevin Oliver told Times Sport that it is the intention that the complex will be a real 'family friendly environment' and that it will hopefully give a major financial boost to the club.

"We'd like to invite everyone to come along for an open viewing of the new facility," Nevin told Times Sport. "There's been so much hard work put into this project and I'd like to go on record and thank everyone who has helped so far, especially Ivan Kyle, Billy Nicholl and Colin McKendry. It is looking excellent and it will be a valuable asset for us.

"We want all fans to be able to use it and we want to make it a family friendly environment.

"This is the next phase of re-development and as a Management Committee we recognise the need for facilities around the ground and are committed to providing them.

"It was always our intention to utilise this facility and this is another major development for us as a football club. Opening will not just be restricted to match days. We hope to be able to provide entertainment in the future as well as make it available for interested groups. And we'd ask anyone who has any ideas to come along and speak to us.

He added: "This open viewing, which will be attended by the players and Mangement Staff, will give everyone a chance to see just how good a job has been done.

"There will also be a special Red Bull promotion on the night, but more details of this will be released next week."

Nevin also revealed that plans for an official opening of the venue are currently in the pipeline.
