‘Pray for Paisley’

DUP president James McClure has called on local people to pray for the Rev. Ian Paisley who remains in hospital with heart trouble.

Lord Bannside is in the intensive care unit of the Ulster Hospital.

The 85-year-old’s close family has remained at his bedside.

Coleraine alderman McClure, a lifelong friend, said: “People have been ringing me and stopping me in the streets of Coleraine, asking how he is.

“Dr. Paisley is highly regarded by so many people and I would urge people to pray for him at this time.

“I know the family are grateful for the thoughts and prayers of wellwishers both here and across the world.”
