Robinson disappointed over Millburn funding snub

LOCAL MLA, George Robinson is “disappointed” that Millburn Primary School in Coleraine has not received funding for a new school.

The DUP man said: “The Education Minister announced funding for new build schools, but Millburn was not among them.

“I have asked on a number of occasions that the school be included on the list for new build but these calls have fallen on deaf ears. I am disappointed it has been overlooked again.”

Mr Robinson added: “Millburn Primary School is at the heart of an established community and does need a rebuild.

“This is only fair as the school has played a prominent role in the life of the surrounding community, and, on occasions, the fourth generation are attending the school. Schools such as these are underestimated and sometimes slip under the radar when it comes to funding.

“I have raised the school before and will continue to, as I see it as one of the projects thoroughly deserving of this type of support. There can be no guarantees, but I will do what I can to ensure the school gets the financial support required.”
