Vandals on rampage at Garvagh school

VANDALS have smashed over 90 windows at a school in the borough.

Garvagh High School on Main Street was attacked between 3.30pm on Friday and 10am on Saturday morning.

Acting Principal Jim Wilkins told the BBC: "Just last week we were celebrating the success of our pupils in their GCSE exams, - they had performed so very well.

"I went to the school and we counted between 70 and 90 windows," he said.

A clean-up operation is under way as the school prepares to open on Tuesday.

Police in Coleraine have appealed for anyone who witnessed the vandalism, or has any information about it, to contact them.
