Women's Link Spring Rally

THE first rally organised by the Presbyterian Women's Link of the newly-formed Coleraine and Limavady Presbytery was held in Terrace Row Church in Coleraine last Thursday evening.

The tone was set as the Praise Time included “Come, now is the time to worship” and “Hear the call of the Kingdom”, led by Elizabeth McMaster and accompanied by a group of musicians.

Link chairperson, Jean Farlow, had recently visited one of our missionary families in Kenya. A short Powerpoint presentation showed us what life was like for the Reid family.

Jean introduced the main speaker for the evening, Valerie Stewart, PW Central President, who had been to see the work of missionaries in Nepal.

She challenged everyone to see the needs of those around us and to respond to those needs.

Again with the aid of Powerpoint and some Nepali folk music she transported the members to the beautiful country of Nepal to meet some of the people. One of next year’s PW projects will help improve the standard of life for widows there.

The meeting ended with the hymn, “Filled With Compassion” and afterwards everyone enjoyed a cup of tea and a chat in the church hall.
