“Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life” - that’s the motto of local singer Maggie Ferris-Curran who is organising a community variety concert in the Riverside Theatre this Friday (November 27th).

The well-known singer said: “One of my most exciting events each year is organising a community variety show at The Riverside Theatre.

The show brings to this wonderful theatre the best of performers, making it a fantastic evening’s entertainment. It promotes our local and very talented artists and groups to an audience who may not otherwise see them.”

On the evening you will be entertained to an extravaganza of music, song and dance including Christmas music, folk, swing, Street Dance, Scottish song and dance and much more.

Maggie’s guests include compere Mark Crawford who this year will delight us with some swing music, The Iconic Street Dancers a young, dynamic and energetic dance group, the renowned Route Singers Choir with Margaret Brown as Musical Director and accompanist Amanda Davies.

Maggie welcomes back The Ann McCay folk trio, songstress Elaine MacAuley, trumpeter Adrian Millar, accompanist Peter Wilson, the magical sounds of the bagpipes by Robert Wilson, The Blue Belles Scottish Country Dancers, singer and guitarist Shane Rodgers who was the winner of the Battle of the Bands 2015 and, finally, from Derry a group of talented musicians who call themselves The 5 Of Us.
