McAfee Auctions is back

McAfee Auctions are back in Ballycastle next week for a 700 lot sale of antique and general furnishings and collectibles, the contents of several house clearances in Londonderry, Portstewart, Ballymoney, Garvagh and Ballymena.

The sale includes a real mix of periods and styles of furniture, collectibles, paintings, clocks, together with some silver, jewellery and books.

Among the many items included in the sale is a very good modern upright piano, superb large rocking horse, astragal glazed door bureau bookcase, two door glazed display cabinet, turn over leaf card table, inlaid astragal glazed corner cupboard, upholstered wing backed armchair and matching stool, extending oak dining room table and chair set, selection of leather and cloth upholstered suites and settees, large pine two door bookcase, good selection of bedroom furniture including a five piece rosewood suite, a four and a three piece suite, and other bedroom furniture including many pine pieces, choice of double pedestal writing desks, book table, nice variety of gilted living room furniture, hall tables, pine farmhouse table, mahogany set of six dining room chairs, inlaid longcase clock, revolving bookcase, open bookshelves, drop leaf coffee table and other occasional tables, selection of Boulle cabinets and desks, pine farmhouse table etc, etc.

Paintings include a really large oil by Hugh McIlfatrick, three watercolours by GW Morrison, oils by Donal McNaughton, J P Rooney, Gregory Moore, R. Keefer, Jim McDonald, A D Sutherland, Michelle Carlin, Liam Reilly etc.

Collectibles include a large Waterford table lamp and shade, pair of franklin mint ‘carp’ vases on stands, and other ‘carp’ pieces, good selection of books including many nicely bound book sets, selection of Waterford, Galway, Tyrone and other crystal, selection of Worcester, royal doulton and hummell figurines, tea and dinner sets, brass and other table lamps, longcase, wall and mantle clocks, collection of dinky and corgi cars and miniature toby jugs, lots of jewellery including diamond cluster and other rings, gold bracelets, pendants, silver neck chains, a busy charm bracelet, pocket watch etc.

Other lots include canteens of cutlery, lots of prints, mirrors, console table and mirror, flatscreen t.v’s, two barometers, two seater swing seat, garden sun dial, bird bath, two garden lanterns, garden bench, heavy duty garden leaf gatherer, two aluminium milk cans etc. etc.

Viewing starts on Wednesday, March 8 and Thursday 9 from 3pm – 5pm and 7pm – 8.30pm and on Thursday, March 10 from 3.30pm until start of sale at 6.30pm.
