MLAs costs claimed are revealed

LAST week the Northern Ireland Assembly published the latest expense claims by MLAs.

The figures take into account office costs, travel and other expenses.

The expenses cover the period from April 2011 until March 2012.

In East Londonderry the SDLP’s John Dallat claimed a total of £78,444.

Expenses for DUP members were: George Robinson, £78,081;

Gregory Campbell, £44,797;

Adrian McQuillan, £74,815.

Independent member David McClarty claimed £67,340 while Sinn Fein’s Cathal Ó hOisín received £53,633.

Ten members submitted expenses of more than £80,000.
