Students at the Ulster University got a slice of the action when they took part in a Freshers’ Week Man vs Food challenge.

Fifteen students gobbled down pizzas galore in a fundraiser for the Friends of the Cancer Centre.

And the pizza fest ended happily with £200 raised for the charity.

And proving he was a crust above was winner Stephen Aitken who scooped a day pass for a spa, a case of Red Bull and free entry into Kelly’s Nightclub.

The runners up were Daniel Morgan and Steven O’Neill who won a case of Red Bull and free admission to Kelly’s.

Emma Bonner, Vice President of the Students’ Union in Coleraine, said: “We wanted to offer students something fun to get their teeth into during their first semester on campus and the food challenge was a great way to get people talking and involved with student life while raising money for a worthy charity. We know that all the money raised will be used to help those that are affected by this condition and also support the great work that this charity carries out.

“We would like to thank Domioes Pizza, Coleraine for their generous donation of 25 pizzas and all the students that participated and donated. It was a huge success”.
