Portstewart Legion hosts annual Poppy Supper Dance

PORTSTEWART Royal British Legion hosted the annual poppy sellers and helpers dance on Saturday night.

Branch Chairman, Guy McLaughlin welcomed everyone to the event.

Those in attendance were asked to spare a special thought for Thomas Woodburn, Club President who was unable to attend due to ill health.

The Traders Cup for 2012 was presented to Tesco in Portstewart.

Poppy Appeal Organiser, Cathy Loughrey thanked all those who had attended and the traders of Portstewart and the general pupblic who had helped make it another successful year.

The total for 2012/2013 stands at £10,473.50, the organiser hopes that by the closing date for this year’s appeal in September that last year’s total of over £15,000 will be reached.

Branch President, Allan Anderson congratulated members of the Branch, the Women’s Section and Club members for their continued support of the Poppy Appeal.
