Coleraine’s Riverside Theatre is both proud and privileged to be the only venue in Northern Ireland hosting international actor and movie star, Simon Callow, in a wonderful stage show entitled The Man Jesus, on Friday, October 31 at 8pm.

His extraordinary play looks back two thousand years to witness key moments in the life of ‘the man Jesus’, through the eyes of the people who knew him.

Callow, one of Britain’s best-loved actors, performs this fresh and moving account of biblical stories including the raising of Lazarus, the wedding at Cana and the journey to Jerusalem.

His powerful portrayal of the tyrants, traitors and madmen in Jesus’ life asks people of all faiths and none: what sort of a man was able to inspire the history of the world?

Thought-provoking, thrilling and full of wit, this production premiered to great acclaim at Belfast’s Lyric Theatre, and now embarks on a strictly limited UK tour.

Meanwhile Ballet Ireland is delighted to present Swan Lake, one of the great love stories of classical ballet, at Riverside on Thursday, October, 30 as part of a tour of Ireland with new staging and choreography and stunning costumes.

Michael Revie, originally from Northern Ireland, now principal dancer at Joburg Ballet Theatre, will be playing the lead role of the Prince. His wife Angela Revie will also be appearing in the production. Ryoko Yagyu, who danced Clara in Ballet Ireland’s 2014 production of The Nutcracker, will play Odette.

This most famous of ballet tells the story of Odette, a beautiful princess, turned into a swan by day by evil magician Von Rothbart, only to regain her human form at night. Out hunting by the lakeside, Prince Siegfried encounters her and falls madly in love with her.

But will he be able to break Von Rothbart’s spell…?
