THE SEARCH is on for budding models with ‘specs’ appeal in the Triangle area.
Specsavers Coleraine will be eyeing up bespectacled beauties at Kelly’s Nightclub, Portrush, next Wednesday (May 30) as part of the nationwide search for the Spectacle Wearer of the Year.
Staff from Specsavers at 11 Kingsgate Street, Coleraine, will be looking for girls or guys who wear their specs with pride and plenty of style and all entries on the night will be entered into the competition. Spectacle Wearer of the Year is open to all spectacle wearers aged 18 and over, who are current specs wearers or wear glasses for fashion purposes.
This year’s search is being fronted by Coronation Street actress, Helen Flanagan.
Sam Kennedy, General Manager, Kelly’s Nightclub says: ‘We’re really excited about the potential in the North West area for this year’s Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition, and have high hopes that the spotting team will find great talent here at Kelly’s Nightclub.’
Judith Ball, store director at Specsavers in Coleraine, added: “Actress Helen Flanagan is a fantastic ambassador for the competition and has really shown people how to make a great fashion statement by choosing the right glasses. We see so many people in the store who also look amazing in their specs and want to see all specs wearers enter this competition to show everyone that four eyes definitely are better than two!”
All entries on the night will automatically be entered into the regional heat. Regional finalists will be announced in July and the grand final will be held in London in October 2012.
The overall winner of Britain’s biggest spectacle fashion-fest will receive an exclusive one year modelling contract with MOT Models.
So if you want to be in with a chance to be crowned Spectacle Wearer of the Year, 2012, pop your specs on and get yourself down to Kelly’s Nightclub, Portrush, on Wednesday 30 May 2012.
Entries can be made by visiting any of the 17 Specsavers stores in Northern Ireland, or by logging on to www.specsavers.co.uk/competition. The closing date for all entries is Saturday 30 June.
