A CHARITY auction in aid of breast cancer and the Alzheimer's Society is being supported by the top names in the worlds of sport and entertainment.
Movie giants Steven Spielberg and George Lucas and sporting legend Lance Armstrong have personally donated items to be auctioned at the Fashion Rocks at the Lodge event on October 16.
Organisers Cindy Marshall and Lee-Ann Moffatt struck up a relationship with West End PA and photographer Donna Ward who is best friends with actress Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia from the Star Wars films.
And it was Carrie Fisher who has persuaded her co-stars and colleagues from the epic Star Wars movies to dig deep and donate items for the Coleraine auction.
The fantastic items include a clapperboard handsigned by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas and a letter from both personally signed by the two movie industry giants.
And, Carrie Fisher herself personally donated a Star Wars poster signed by the stars of all six films - Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, James Earl Jones, Kenny Baker, Anthony Daniels, Hayden Christensen, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Samuel L Jackson, Christopher Lee, Liam Neeson, Jake Lloyd, George Lucas, and Rick McCallum.
Simpsons creator Matt Groening has also provided a poser signed by all the cast and he has personalised his signtaure with a little cartoon drawing of Lisa Simpson.
From the world of sport, the Coleraine charity event has received world class endorsement from cyclist Lance Armstrong who has donated a handsigned picture donated by his Livestrong Foundation in Texas.
A 1990 World Cup England football signed by the late Sir Bobby Robson and the squad has also been donated by Stephen McKendry.
The signatures on the ball include Peter Shilton, Peter Beardsley, Gary Lineker, Paul Gascoigne, Des Walker, Steve Hodge, Chris Woods, Bryan Robson, Steve Bull, David Platt, Paul Parker, Steve McMahon, Chris Waddle, Tony Dorigo, Neil Webb, Terry Butcher and John Barnes.
Other sporting memorabilia donated for the auction include two handsigned shirts from Darren Clarke (donated by his mum Hetty) and a handsigned Graham McDowell T-shirt donated by his mother, Marian McDowell.
Other items up for grabs include a fully handsigned Manchester United current squad team ball (donated by Tommy Doherty) and a caricature picture handsigned by Liverpool's Fernando Torres (donated by Andy Maguire).
Skateboarders in the area will be delighted with a Tony Hawk signed photo donated by his Hawk Company in New York.
Organiser Cindy Marshall said: "Some of the items are truly unique and we have been advised to get in touch with international auction houses to ensure that the most valuable items reach their true value.
"It is unbelievable that Coleraine has handsigned letters and photos from these A-listers to auction on October 16."
