The very successful Springwell Running Club is branching out once again, this time Garvagh is the addition to its already established training camps based in: Coleraine, Ballymoney and Limavady.

From humble beginnings in 2001 the club has grown on all fronts from juniors to seniors with a strong female contingent taking part in all disciplines: on the track, road racing, cross-country and trail running. Along the way many successes have been achieved with individual members representing Northern Ireland at national events or their team becoming N.I. Half Marathon champions.

Not resting on its laurels Springwell Running Club decided the time was right for a branch based in Garvagh. In association with the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council training will take place from the Jim Watt Sports Centre each Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm. Training, which is open to all, is aimed to entice those who just simply run but needed some structure to increase their performance or for those just looking to improve their general fitness. While looking to get as many people into athletics as possible they emphasis it not all about doing the miles but for fun and enjoyment of it also.

The Club is hoping to attract you to join not only to its new fledgling Garvagh training base but also invites you to any of the other training sites so that we can develop our members of all ages and abilities in a varied training programme taken by club coaches. Then take part to run in, or assist in, some of the many events it host over the racing year i.e. Roe Valley Trail Run, Boom 10K, Riada 5 mile and the Jude Gallagher Round the Bridges etc. many of which raises funds for good causes.

So what are you doing Tuesday and Thursday at 6 pm? Springwell Running in Garvagh
