People in Coleraine are encouraged to strike vintage gold for Age NI by donating old coins or notes.

Linda Parker, Donor Manager in the Fundraising team, said: “We’re hoping to strike vintage gold, silver, and even copper too with old money that may be gathering dust in the back of a drawer, hiding in a box, under a sofa, or even in the pocket of an overcoat – never to be used again!’

“Although these old coins, often known as farthing, ha’penny, thrup’nny bit, shilling or crown, may be a distant memory for some people and completely unknown to others, there are many more who will be familiar with them. Age NI uses a coin collecting company dedicated to helping charities that turns vintage money into valuable funds to support older people.”

Bring any old coins and notes or foreign currency into Age NI, 26C Railway Road, Coleraine.
