THE first Causeway Coast Surf Festival will be held in Portrush this weekend.
The Atlantic Bar and Lounge is hosting a full weekend of evening entertainment as official partners of the festival.
Entertainment will include a surf film screening evening this Friday, Good Friday (29th) from 7pm, including exclusive surf films from around the world, and some special screenings of Irish surf films including the locally filmed and produced feature ‘Children Of The Norn’ from Meldrew Productions.
Further evening entertainment in the Atlantic Bar and Lounge includes music with local DJs, ‘Homespun Sound System’ and ‘Antidote Sound System’ on Saturday evening from 8pm.
On both Friday and Saturday night admission is FREE and there will be various drinks promos running
The surf festival itself will feature contests sanctioned by the Irish Surfing Association in men’s and women’s open, bodyboard, longboard and increasingly popular water sport SUP (stand up paddle boarding).
The Causeway Coast Surf Club (CCSC) have organised the festival to build on the success of Irish surfing legends like Al Mennie and Easkey Britton and to promote surfing in the area.
The festival itself will include live music from the beach marquee during the day, as well as photo and art exhibitions and a surfers’ marketplace.
