TWO check out girls from Tesco in Coleraine have been recognised for their outstanding customer service.
Karen Kane and Ann Simpson are in the running for outstanding service awards at the company’s annual Value Awards in London
Over the past few years, the pair have gone beyond their duties at the check outs by visiting elderly customers in hospital and taking them gifts like pyjamas and toiletries.
Their kindness led Personnel Manager, Lin Hunter to nominate them in the ‘Outstanding Service’ and ‘Tesco Hero’ categories.
And, out of over 8,000 entries the Coleraine pair have been short listed in both categories and will be visiting London later this month to attend a glittering awards ceremony.
Karen and Ann started in the former Crazy Prices store on the same day - 17 years ago.
Their experience and friendly demeanour has earned them respect from both colleagues and customers alike.
Coleraine Store Manager, Derek Loughlin said he is extremely proud of the girls: “One customer in particular was delighted that Karen and Ann visited him in hospital with a little gift. I know that their efforts are really appreciated and we wish them all the best in London.”
