Unemployment rises in Coleraine
THE number of people out of work in the Coleraine Borough Council area has risen by over 5% since this time last year.
Figures released by the Labour Market for the month of Janaury show a 5.2% increase on the number of jobless compared with January 2011.
That percentage represents an extra 96 people out of work.
The number of people out of work in the Borough in January was 1,937 - that’s 1,391 men and 546 women.
That also represents an increase of 3.4% or 64 people since December 2011.
