Clarke welcomes movement on Coleraine's Enterprise Zone
Coleraine DUP Councillor Trevor Clarke has welcomed reports that a key step has been taken today in creating a high-tech enterprise zone in the town.
He said: “I am pleased the Statutory Instrument which effectively puts into law the official designation of Coleraine’s Enterprise Zone was laid before parliament at Westminster this morning.
This will enable work to commence very quickly on Northern Ireland’s first EZ at a site on the outskirts of town, just off the Portstewart Road. The potential for new economic development and employment opportunities relating to presence of the trans-Atlantic high-speed cable link in Coleraine can now be realised.
This is an exciting development which will generate a multi-million pound investment during the first phase of construction alone.”
