The course has been designed with the practical needs of the carer in mind. Each session will run in an informal, relaxed atmosphere and there will be an opportunity to ask questions and talk with other carers over a cup of tea.

Adrian Friel Service’s Manager Northern Area said these programme are vital when supporting a person affected by dementia.

Also the support which trained Dementia Support Workers can give can be vital in helping the person affected by dementia remaining on their own community longer.

Through helping the carer develop the carer with appropriate information, knowledge and skills to ensure that the person they are looking for is supported in the best way possible. The sessions are free and open to the general public.

For further information about the carer information programme or caring for someone with dementia please feel free to contact Helen Taylor, Dementia Support Worker on 028 7035 8887.
