Do you have a ‘shining star’ in your community who runs messages for older people in your neighbourhood or is the first to volunteer at local events or community initiatives?

firmus energy is once again supporting the annual ‘Person to Be Proud Of’ competition, allowing all the exceptional people in communities across Northern Ireland, including right here in Ballymoney and Moyle to be recognised.

Nominate a ‘shining star’ today in our ‘Person to Be Proud Of’ competition, running through Johnston Press newspapers across the province, including The Ballymoney and Moyle Times!

Gavin Twamley, local sales representative from firmus energy, commented: “We are out and about in communities across Northern Ireland each and every day and regularly meet and hear about people who go above and beyond to help others.

“These are the ‘shining stars’ we want to highlight through this competition.

“As a company we have a strong focus on giving back to our local communities.

“We have supported charities, worked with organisations such as Business in the Community.

“We have also lent time and resources to projects, such as landscaping Special Schools, including Riverside in Antrim and Ceara in Lurgan.

“We wholeheartedly appreciate that so much good work is being done within communities on an individual level.

“And it is those people whom we hope will be nominated for the ‘Person To Be Proud Of’ competition.”

Last year, Coleraine’s fundraising Caring Caretaker Davy Boyle won the Person to be Proud of.

The late Shaun Esler from Ballymoney was also given an honourable mention for his fundraising and awareness raising work for local commuity groups.
