Flower Festival to mark Dunboeanniversary

The congregation of Second Dunboe Presbyterian Church, which was established in the 1740's are holding a Festival of Flowers to celebratetheir 275th anniversary next month.

Second Dunboe Presbyterian Church hope that the congregation will come to gether to join in this special milestone in the church’s history.

Under the artistic direction of Cherie Nummy, the Festival will run from Frida, June 10 until Sunday, June 12, when the congregation will give a warm welcome to visitors.

The opening hours are Friday: Noon -9.00pm; Saturday: 10am-9.00pm; and Sunday, 2.00pm -5.00pm.

Morning coffee, light lunches and afternoon teas will be available.

Situated on the Windyhill Road outside Coleraine has been in existence since the 1740’s with a church building dating back to that time.

The Festival of Flowers is the commencement of a year -long celebration under the theme “God among us” reminding us of the goodness of God to his people in this place, and of the age old promise “ he will never leave us or forsake us”.

The Festival will conclude on Sunday, June 12 with a service of thanks at 7.00pm conducted by The Very Rev Dr John Finlay, and praise will be led by the Coleraine Community Choir under their conductor Miss Roberta Scott.

Everyone will be given a warm welcome at the Festival of Flowers and Thanksgiving Service.
