RDA nominated 87 volunteers to receive certificates along with a specially designed volunteer pin badge.

Christine Hankin, RDA’s chairperson, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincerest thanks to all of our volunteers, without them we could not achieve the amount that we do.”

Stephanie Grundon, from Causeway Volunteer Centre, added: “It is a great pleasure to attend ‘thank-you’ events like these as it allows Causeway Volunteer Centre the opportunity to meet many volunteers involved in the project and to hear the great sense of achievement that they all get out of their voluntary work”.

Certificates were presented to the volunteers with a special mention given to Sam Graham and his massive commitment to RDA with more than 15 years of dedication.

Another special mention was given to Harry, one of RDA’s longest serving horses. He took centre stage and was presented with a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.

Michelle Scott, manager of RDA, stressed that they have the most dedicated, helpful, generous and selfless volunteers. They volunteer consistently through all weathers to ensure the service is provided to persons with a disability in the community, as well as ensuring the ponies are looked after especially during the busy holidays/ They often sacrifice time with family and friends to help.

RDA Coleraine wish to thank all their volunteers for all their help and support, without them they would not be able to offer the service that they do. “Our volunteers truly make a difference to others and our community, and we are so lucky to have them,” and RDA spokesperson said.
