Margaret died peacefully on Wednesday, July 13 at her Riverside Road home. A much-loved wife and mother, Margaret was buried on Saturday in Ballywatt Presbyterian Church. Since the news, tributes have been paid to such a ‘lovely lady’.

Nevin Taggart from Bushmills posted on Facebook: “I received some very sad news. Margaret, wife of my friend Robert Thompson, passed away suddenly. Robert has only recently finished his annual WWI exhibition. Margaret was unable to attend the recent unveiling of the Sergeant Robert Quigg VC statute but otherwise seemed in very good spirits. I always received a very warm welcome in the Thompson home. She will be sadly missed.”
