Your Working Life’ Roadshow coming to Coleraine Library

LIBRARIES NI has announced that one of a series of ‘Your Working Life’ Roadshows will be taking place in Coleraine Library on Thursday, February 16, from 10am to 3.30pm.

If you are looking for work, a change of career, returning to the workplace, facing redundancy, leaving school or applying to study, this ‘Your Working Life’ Roadshow will be able to offer you help and free advice from a range of experts in your local library.

Libraries NI have devised this programme of ‘Your Working Life’ employability roadshows, which are taking place in a number of libraries across Northern Ireland, with the aim of helping people who are finding the current economic climate a challenge.

At next week’s event, visitors to Coleraine Library will have the opportunity to visit a range of information stands, from employment and training related organisations. Advisors will be willing to answer questions and offer advice to suit your needs.

Two workshops will also be held for members of the public to attend, focusing on:

* Prepare to Impress - Applications and Interview Techniques (delivered by EGSA – Educational Guidance Service For Adults)

* Impress in Style - Presenting Yourself and Talking the Talk (delivered by Impact Training)

Both workshops are free to attend but places are limited so contact the library for details of times of workshop and to pre-book a place.

Libraries NI will also be showcasing their basic computer skills sessions, through free Got IT? sessions, Online Library resources available through the website www.librariesni.org.uk and Business Library resources available to library users.

Valerie Nicholson, Adult Learning Services Manager, Libraries NI, explains: “Libraries NI is delighted that Coleraine Library is hosting one of these ‘Your Working Life’ Roadshows, which have been designed to offer people information on how to increase their chances of good quality employment.

“We are pleased to work with a range of partners and support organisations to devise these roadshows and experts will be on hand from various organisations to offer advice and workshops will also be held on the day, so we would invite everyone to come along to Coleraine Library on Thursday, February 16 and find out what support is available to help you achieve a better working life.”

Admission to the event is free, refreshments and an information pack will be provided. You can contact Coleraine Library on 028 7034 2561 or email: coleraine.library@librariesni.org.uk
