MEMBERS of Coleraine Chujo Karate Association won six medals at the Chujo Karate Association Championships at Seven Towers Leisure Centre, Ballymena.
Around 100 competitors from participating clubs from Coleraine, Rasharkin, Ballymena, Ballymoney and Ballymena took part in the individual Kata and Kumite categories.

Coleraine club members won three gold medals, two silver and a bronze.

The officials were Ernest Tuff, Denis Newman, Keith Millar, Steven Surgeoner and championship organiser and chief coach Dan Redmond.

Dan was very impressed with the standard of those competing and he hoped a strong contingent would be challenging for Northern Ireland titles next year.

Coleraine results:

Female Individual Kata event 1: 3rd, Alexandra McKeown.

Male Individual Kata event 2: 1st, Adam Mitchell; 2nd, Ross McClelland.

Male Individual Kumite event 3: 1st, Adam Mitchell; 2nd, Isaac Malcolm.

Male Individual Kumite event 4: 1st, Michael Weir.

Best overall technique of the day: Adam Mitchell.
