THIS Saturday sees Ulster Cup kart racing action at Nutts Corner Motorsports Centre when the province's top drivers take on the second round of the tough series.
As an indicator of how things might shape up this season, the action at the circuit on Easter Monday and Tuesday for the Nibbles Catering supported Ulster Trophy saw some terrific results by locals.

In the Junior Cadets class, Kilrea's Conor Shaw
started out with three good results to put him into the top ten contention.

The second day saw the competition intensify and some inclement weather thrown in made the challenge even harder. However, in the end Conor held on well to take eighth place with only a handful of points keeping him out of the top five in the end. Another good run this Saturday could well see Conor enter the top five rankings.

Conor's brother Ronan also showed great form over the two days in the Junior Rotax Max class. Ronan's first day was steady but in the second he increased his pace to take an excellent third in his final race. In the end that was enough to see him move up to seventh overall, he too only a handful of points off the top five.

In the Pro-kart class, Coleraine's Colin Wilson drove steadily throughout the two days but on the second day he improved his pace to take a well deserved fourth in his final race. In the end that was enough to see Colin secure ninth overall.

Racing this Saturday gets underway at 10am.
