Malone couple win Mixed Greensomes

OPEN Week began at Bushfoot Golf Club with an Open Mixed Greensomes competition on Sunday.
The best score of the day was posted by visiting Malone duo Simon and Claire Rankin with a nett 61.
The runners-up were Rebecca Lemon (Portstewart) and Clive Kennedy (Bushfoot) with next 63 and third were Ray and Lesley-Ann Cromie from Greenisland with nett 66.
Meanwhile the club hosted the Festival Cup last Saturday.
Topping the field was James Laverty, playing off 11, with 40 points, two ahead of Ken Little (23).
Ivor Campbell was beaten into third place by an inferior back nine. He returned 38 points off a 12 handicap mark.
Stevie Glass took the gross prize with an 82.
