Wetherall Cup at Ballycastle goes to Claire

THE weather was kind for members and visitors to Ballycastle for their annual open - The Wetherall Cup - at the weekend.
Some 78 competitors took part in the competition, some ladies from as far as Belgium. The overall winner of the Cup was Claire McKeague from Kilrea (23) with 39 points.

First in section A with 37 points was Shelia Duffy from Portstewart (16), with Jenny Duncan (15) runner up with 36.

Liz Dowds (24) topped Section B with 39 points and Catherine Canning (22) was second on 38.

Best on the front nine was Yvonne Gamble from Gracehill (36) who carded 23 points while Doreen Reid (16) returned 19 points to take the back nine honours.

The gross prize was won by Fiona Glass (11) with 25 gross points.

Lady captain Mrs Valerie Sayers would like to thank all those who supported the competition and the sponsors of the event, Casey Oils, Loughgiel and Sheskburn Garage, Ballycastle.
