BOXING: Knockout night for Skerries ABC

SKERRIES Amateur Boxing Club presented a stunning 13-fight bill at their Fight Night in The Playhouse in Portrush last Friday night.

Everyone at the club would like to thank the local business community for their generous support of the event as well as the public who turned up to support the young boxers.

The club is grateful to the Derry Boxing Board for supplying the officials, Nigel Tohill of the Playhouse complex, Alan Martin of Scorpion and Mickey Fleming of Golden Gloves and their boxers and paramedic Rab McCoy for all their kind assistance.

Boxing fans were treated to 10 contests and three exhibition bouts. The fight of the night saw Jamie Douglas win a majority points decision over Liam Chisholm at 54k.

52k Josh Diamond RSC 1 v Saul Kearney, Omagh.

54k Jamie Douglas, beat Liam Chisholm, Scorpion, majority pts.

54k Ryan Deans lost unanimous pts to Sean McAllister, Omagh.

63k Toby Wisener lost majority pts to Mickey McGrinder, Golden Gloves.

68k Zane McWilliams lost majority pts to Chris Adams, St Canice's.

65k Karl Rushe beat Darragh Mullan, unanimous pts.
