FOOTBALL: Morrow banned for betting offences

COLERAINE'S Sammy Morrow has been banned for three months after being found to have made bets on a number of games in which he played.

The matches are understood to have included a number of Derry City games while he was at the Brandywell.

The Fifa ruling means Morrow misses the rest of the season, including the Co-operative Insurance Cup final against Glentoran this Saturday.

The 25-year-old signed for Coleraine in early February after leaving Derry.

The former Northern Ireland Under-21 international was reported to have admitted to a number of the offences relating to a small number games.
