WITH the improvement in the weather all but one of Saturday’s planned games were played.

Hopefully the weather will continue to improve so teams can make up ground lost during the bad weather over the festive season.

RESULTS

INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE

DESERTMARTIN 2 V 5 RASHARKIN UNITED

Rasharkin started off quickly taking the lead after Robert Nicholl scored on the 3rd minute then followed this up with two more goals scored by Lee Barr and Ian Parkhill on the 10th and 30th minutes.

As half-time was approaching Desertmartin pulled a goal back when Mark Shiels scored on the 35th minute.

The second half saw Desertmartin go for goals but Rasharkin beat them to it with two more goals scored by Ian Parkhill and Dale Armstrong on the 60th and 63rd minutes. Desertmartin never gave up the chase getting a second goal after Andy Kelso scored on the 75th minute but by then Rasharkin had the points safely in the bag. Referee Mr. Darren Watt

DUNLOY 5 V 0 COOKSTOWN OLYMPIC

In a good evenly contested first-half the only difference between the teams was the goal scored by Declan McGarry on the 17th minute that saw Dunloy in front at the break.

Declan McGarry then scored his second goal in the game on the 56th minute this resulted in the Olympic having to throw men forward which cost them with Brendan McGarry nipping through to scored for Dunloy on the 76th minute.

The Olympic never gave up the chase but two goals scored by Brendan McGarry and John John McFerran on the 89th and 90th minutes completed the scoring on the day. Referee Mr. Gary Curran

JUNIOR DIVISION ONE

GLEBE RANGERS RES 7 V 1 FC LARNE

Larne took the lead in this game when Euan Thompson scored on the 20th minute but this was cancelled out after Gareth Henry got the equaliser for Glebe on the 22nd minute.

After this Larne matched Glebe and went in level at half-time but after Gareth Henry put Glebe in front on the 50th minute Larne faded from the game. Glebe then scored five more goals through Neil McVicker penalty on the 56th minute Aaron Wallace (2), Gareth Henry completing his hat-trick and a second from Neil McVicker on the 85th minute.

BALLYMONEY UNITED RES 5 V 0 MOYOLA PARK OLYMPIC

Ballymoney were in front on the 3rd minute when Mark Gillen hit a screamer of a shot into the top corner of the net then followed this with his second goal mid-way through the first-half. Moyola pried hard to get back into the game but fell further behind to goals scored by Conor McKenna on the 60th and 72nd minutes. Time was then running out when Conor McKenna completed his hat-trick on the 84th minute. Referee Mr. Gusty Crawford

KILLYMOON RANGERS RES 7 V 1 FINVOY

Killymoon always had the winning of this game and goals scored by Trevor Brownlee 2, Paul Redford 2, Willie Watson 1 and Andy Neil to a single goal reply for Finvoy by Ryan Stewart completed a poor day for the visitors. Referee Mr. Mark O’Neil
