ICE SKATING: Jenna to train in Coventry again

JENNA McCorkell is moving back to Britain to train, but she will still be based, with her new husband, in Belgium.

Five times British ladies ice skating champion and eighth in Europe, Jenna will be arriving back in Britain soon to continue her competitive career with coach Yuri Bureiko.

Jenna has always maintained, as part of her training, her connection to Bureiko, who was her full-time coach from the age of 15 years until two years ago.

Yuri continued to work on various aspects of her programmes last season, as well as Kevin Van de Perren's and other top skaters from around the country and indeed further afield.

To be based in Coventry again makes sense for Jenna for a variety of reasons. Her permanent home will be in Belgium, but her training base will now be split between Belgium and Coventry. This will make meeting relatives from 'back home' much more accessible as well.

Jenna who married Kevin, the Belgian champion and the 2007 European bronze medalist, in May said:

"To be working with Yuri again will be like coming home. I had continued to work with Yuri even though I moved to Belgium two years ago and he has always continued to have an input in my programmes, so I am delighted that we will be working together again on a more full-time basis."
