Leaders held to rare draw

RUNAWAY Division 1 leaders McNulty's A were held to a 3-3 draw with McNulty's B last week - despite taking a 2-0 lead.

Damien Reid had given the A team the lead, coming back from a frame down against William Boyce to compile back-to-back eight ball finishes to win 2-1.

Lee Hull then played solid pool to make it 2-0 as he swept past Allan Tosh in consecutive frames.

But the B team hit back through Gavin McClements who took out a good finish in the first frame against Davy Tosh. Davy was fortunate to level in the next frame when Gavin went in off on his last red but Gavin played some good tactical shots to take the decider.

Dijon McCorkell played good solid pool to outwit Adrian O’Kane, winning 2-0, to bring the B team level.

Paul Baird took out an eight ball finish in the first frame against Mark Hutchison. But ‘Bobby’ showed why he has a great record in the league with two good finishes to fire the A side back into the lead.

Chris Wade took advantage of loose play by Willie Boreland to win the first frame. Chris then broke and finished to give the B boys a well deserved draw.

Player of the match: Chris Wade.
