Richard and Peter Chambers are through to Sunday’s lightweight double sculls final after finishing second in their semi-final in Lucerne.

The Coleraine brothers won their heat with ease but came in 1.5 seconds behind the Italian crew on Saturday.

Fellow Coleraine rower Alan Campbell also finished second in his single sculls semi-final on Lake Rotsee.

The Olympic bronze medallist was beaten by Ondrej Synek of the Czech Republic but progresses to the final.

Campbell was also second in his heat on Friday, with Cuban Angel Fournier Hernandez a surprise winner.

The Chambers pair won their heat with ease, leading from start to finish to win in a time of 6:23.81 and ahead of German crew Konstantin Steinhuebel and Lars Hartig.

Lucerne is the third and final World Cup regatta of the season and is the last chance to lay down a marker before the World Championships in Korea.
