CHURCHLNAD Golden Gloves Boxing Club hosted another very successful Fight Night in their new venue at Coleraine West Community Centre last Friday night.

The hosts really showed their skills on the night winning 10 of the 13 bouts. Two exhibition bouts kicked off the night as David Anderson and Colin Dickey took on Adam Boal and Ewan White respectively. Home boxer Dylan Doherty won on unanimous decision over Marcus McElwee, but Dylan Browne was just pipped by Alex Porter.

Paddy Hayes won on points against John McMullan, Tommy Toner though was just pipped by Aaron Mullan in a hard fought encounter. Ryan Doherty, who won best home boxer, showed his class in a great fight against Shane Murray, who won best away boxer. And before the interval Matthew Boreland saw off Dougie McNulty.

Hubert Borowski came out on top in his first fight against Cameron Leaper, as did Peter McGonigle against Gary McGlinchey. Jamie Bradley produced a great left hook to knock out Glen Higgins. Lewis Dickey won without too much bother over Dylan McAleer. There was also wins for Simon McElwee and JP McElwee over Jason Campbell and Lucas Trela to round it all off. Organisers would like to thank everyone for making it such a successful night.
