The Bann Wheelers Causeway Cycle Challenge is set to take place on Sunday 27th July from Coleraine Rugby Club.

Preparations are well under way as they get ready to host over 300 cyclists in a bid to raise as much funds as possible for this year’s local nominated charities - Mountfern Adult Centre, Marie Curie Cancer Care & Community Rescue Service.

This year the sportive has two updated routes providing a 40 mile or 65 mile option for cycle enthusiasts.

Both routes take in the picturesque Lower Bann and stunning Causeway Coast, with those cycling the 65 route passing through the world famous Dark Hedges.

The organising committee got together this week to thank this year’s sponsors Henderson Wholesale and Culbertsons, SPAR, Ballymena, who have come on board for the second year in a row.

The cost of entry is £20.00 per person, which includes a commemorative gift and all proceeds going to the nominated charities.

Entries have now opened online at www.sientries.co.uk and it is recommended to register in advance to save queuing on the morning of the event.

Registration is from 08:30 am with a mass ride out at 10:00am. Everyone can avail of Refreshments which will be provided along both routes, with food provided on return to Coleraine Rugby Club.
