Coleraine Borough is renowned as the ‘Home of the North West 200’, and now the management team has the jackets to prove it!
Last Thursday, 23rd February, the Mayor of Coleraine, Alderman Maurice Bradley, presented the Coleraine District Motor Club North West 200 management team with new branded jackets. The jackets proclaim the Borough as home to one of the biggest sporting events in the Province.
Mayor Bradley said: “Coleraine Borough is incredibly proud to be the home of the North West 200 (NW200), a world leading biking event. I want to take this opportunity to thank the management team from Coleraine District Motor Club and all the volunteers, for their dedication and hard work which ensures this is a first class event.
“For eighty-two years the event has been going from strength to strength and is a great attraction with supporters travelling from all over the world. This year brings a new development with an additional race day on the Thursday commencing at 6pm.
“I am really looking forward to attending the practice sessions and race days with my colleagues from Council.”
Thanking Coleraine Borough Council and Mayor of Coleraine, Alderman Maurice Bradley, Relentless NW200 Technical Director, Mervyn Whyte MBE said: “Coleraine’s North West brand profile which was unveiled last year has really helped raise the profile of the race and cemented it with the Coleraine and North Coast region.
“The management team will wear these new branded “Borough of Coleraine – Home of the North West 200” jackets with pride. We would like to also pay tribute to Council and its representatives for all their support, cash and in kind funding over the years.
“It really is a full team effort which has helped grow the event and made it a global brand in the motorsport world.”
