Alan Campbell, Joel Cassells and the Chambers brothers, Peter and Richard, will all be competing in Lucerne.

The GB squad will be in buoyant form going into the event on Switzerland’s Rotsee lake after their performance at the European Championships at the start of the month.

Richard Chambers missed out on the event in Brandendurg as he recovered from a hand injury.

But he is back alongside Will Fletcher as the 2015 World silver medallists get their first run-out in the lightweight men’s double.

“Racing in Lucerne is always exciting and special for any international crew,” said Chambers.

“For it to be our first international race of the season is important as we can see where we are after what has been a successful and solid winter’s training in the double.”

Sam Scrimgeour and Joel Cassells will be seeking to build on their European gold when they take on the rest of the world in the lightweight men’s pair.

And Cassells is really looking forward to competing in Switzerland.

“This will be my first time racing in Lucerne,” said the Olympic hopeful. “Can’t wait!”

The lightweight four in Switzerland is also unchanged - Chris Bartley, Mark Aldred, Jono Clegg and Peter Chambers.

They showed their promise for 2016, from their ninth place result at last year’s Worlds, to take a silver medal behind the Swiss reigning World Champions.

Alan Campbell will be hoping for a better showin this time out.

The Olympic bronze medalist finished third in the B single scull final in Germany.

Campbell said afterwards that he had been suffering badly from hay fever over the weekend in Brandenburg.

The World Cup will take place on Switzerland’s Rotsee lake from May 27-29.
