Ballymoney Sports Development Unit and Springwell Running Club are indebted to LacPatrick for coming on board with financial assistance and they both would like to thank LacPatrick Creameries for supporting this prestigious event.

The 5 mile road race will begin at 7.30pm with a whopping 20 individual categories incorporated into the main race this year.

“This year promises to be the best event yet with categories for everyone and prizes the whole way down the field, so there is no excuse not to turn up and give it a go,” said Sports Development Manager John Fall.

The full list of categories are as follows: open male and female: Veterans sections for males and females at over 35, over 40, over 45, over 50, over 55, over 60, and over 65 : Junior race for male and female and finally wheelchair race for male and females.

The race has attracted great numbers in past years with 180 finishers in 2015 and this year should be no different with enquiries already received from all over the province.

Prior to the main event, the children’s fun run will take place at 6.15pm again at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre. The race will take place in the grounds of the centre and is open to anyone aged 8-14.

Please not that entry costs £3-00 per child and NO entries will be accepted without a Parental/Guardian consent form being completed.

The evening’s activities kick off from 6pm and everyone is welcome to attend and support the runners. The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Alderman Maura Hickey will start the race at 7.30pm from the Garryduff Road. The first finishers will be expected back inside 25 minutes to have a chance at the course record. Spectators will be entertained by local “Walker’s Entertainment” during this time.

If you would like more information on the event please contact John Fall, Sports Development Manager on 028 27660260 or email [email protected].
