Fourths book Ravenhill date
COLERAINE Fourths are off to Ravenhill after winning an exciting semi final clash with Omagh Thirds on Saturday.
The scene is now set for a Foster Cup final showdown with Grosvenor Seconds on April 18. Plans are already being made to make sure as many people as possible come along to support the side.
On Saturday Omagh came to Rugby Avenue but despite some well practiced moves they lost out 18-3 to the Bannsiders.
Paul Shiels opened Coleraine's account when the ball saw fed out from the blind side of the ruck allowing him the chance to evade the defence and score. The conversion went wide but a short time later Stevie Callaghan scored from a penalty opportunity.
The next score went to John Henderson. Gareth McCallum made the initial break, intercepting a pass as Omagh attacked. He sprinted half the pitch before offloading to Henderson for the try. Peter McNay converted.
In the second half Coleraine dominated proceedings but were unlucky not to increase the try count. The second row line up of Stuart McCrum and Andrew Neely were immense in defence.
Omagh claimed three points from a penalty after their only concerted attack but it was all Coleraine for the final 20 minutes. McNay claimed the final points from a penalty to leave the final score 18-3 to Coleraine.
Now captain George Neely will be working hard to make sure his men are in top shape for the big day in Belfast.
