Gr-eight stuff from Coleraine Frists as they storm into the semi finals

Coleraine Ladies played the quarter finals of the Ulster Intermediate Plate at home against Dromore 3s.

The game started in our favour with the forward line consisting of Niamh Lockhart, Niamh Tweedie and Zoe Campbell pressing well and were they were unlucky to convert an early penalty corner. Soon after another corner was awarded and Helen Tweedie took a solo run and slotted it nicely between the keeper’s legs.

With Coleraine in the lead, confidence grew and shortly after, Zoe Campbell took a high rebound tapping into the net.

Coleraine’s attacking form continued with Kelly Watt getting the next goal by driving through several players and also reaching the net.

The defence of Molly Kane, Ciara Richmond, Susan Chapman and Helen Tweedie were able to keep Dromore at bay with no goals conceded in the first half. Coleraine again found the back of the net with shots from both Niamh Tweedie and Niamh Lockhart. This rounded up the first half with Coleraine winning 5-0.

Determined to increase the score line, Coleraine’s movement with the ball was excellent between the midfielder’s consisting of Alex Balmer, Olivia Mullan and golden oldie, Sue Nutt. Coleraine’s Grace Bradley returned to the pitch.

She scored all the goals in the second half which amounted to a hat-trick making an important mark on the game. Dromore continued to push hard and were awarded with a number of penalty corners which goalkeeper Rebecca Crowe executed a number of goal-stopping saves. Their perseverance paid off with a late goal bringing the finishing score to 8-1.

Coleraine would like to thank the umpires, coaches and supporters for giving up their time and look forward to the semi-final of the plate.
