Hide AdEvelyn Donelly, Sportive Coordinator and co-owner of Derry’s Iyengar Yoga Centre, said the event was a great success: “We increased our participation by almost 30% on last year’s numbers, and that was despite the weather warnings for strong winds and rain.
“The Foyle Hospice is a great cause to support, and we now hope to build on this year’s sportive for next year. Our aim is to have 250 people participating.”
The route took riders out of Derry along the River Foyle into Donegal, through the villages of Carrigans, St Johnston and Raphoe.
For the shorter distance, the local dedicated greenway and off-road paths were used. Anyone wanting to donate to the Foyle Hospice should log on to www.foylehospice.com.
