Runners from across the province and further afield will descend on the village of Dervock for the annual Half Marathon and 10K.

The 10K gets proceedings under way at 10.45am followed by the Half Marathon, which is part of the Pure Running Half Marathon Series, at 11.00am.

There will be a carnival atmosphere in Dervock with entertainment in the Recreation Grounds at the Community Centre during the day. So come out enjoy the entertainment and support the athletes as they tackle their 10K, and 13.1-mile challenge.

The organisers Springwell Running Club and Dervock & District Community Association would like to thank Dervock & District Community Association Ltd and Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council for supporting the event.

Competitors can collect Race Packs from Race Registration in the Community Centre on Friday 22 July between 4.00pm and 8.00pm or Saturday 23 July between 8.00am and 10.30am.

Late entries can be made at registration on Friday and Saturday. There will be no entries taken after 10.00am.

There will be No Parking on the Knock Road, Carncullagh Road, within the 30mph village limits on Saturday. Similarly, there will be No Parking on the Bregagh Road between its junctions with the Ballinlea and Ballykenver Roads.

Competitors and spectators should use the designated Car Parks which will be well signed posted.

This year marks the 104th anniversary of Kennedy Kane McArthur’s gold medal win for South Africa at the 1912 Olympic Marathon and to mark the occasion the organisers have designed a bespoke medal for all the finishers in the Half Marathon. Both races start and finish in the village with the Half Marathon taking the runners through the famous Dark Hedges.
