The home side showed no mercy in this Division One ‘top of the table’ clash last Friday evening as they maintained their 100% winning record after four games consigning Eoghan Rua to their first loss.

The Coleraine men were short a number of first team starters due to injuries including Niall Holly, Sean Leo McGoldrick, Ciaran Mullan, Colm McGoldrick and Declan Mullan while Maghgerafel were close to their full strength side.

Eoghan Rua suffered a further injury setback when they lost centre back Barry McGoldrick just ten minutes into the second half to further add to their woes.

The home side led this game from pillar to post and never looked in any danger throughout.

Magherafelt led 0-11 to 0-5 at half-time.

Their two second half goals only embellished a victory that was fairly well settled for a long way out.

With four wins from four games, already Magherafelt are looking like a side that could threaten a major breakthrough this season while Eoghan Rua’s heavy defeat has brought them back to earth with a bump folowing their three wins from three starts going into this game
