Medals for Chujo Karate Association members

LOCAL members of the Chujo Karate Association have won medals at the 2013 Annual North v South Championships.

Jonathan Lynn from Coleraine was awarded two silver medals in the Kata event and the sparring event, whilst Ramel Flores from Coleraine took a bronze medal in the kata section.

The event took place in Belfast, and saw individuals and teams from the Irish Republic, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England competing for honours.

The CKA group were up against top class opposition and came away from the championships with a grand total of nine medals.

Chief Coach Dan Redmond was very pleased. Other podium finishes went to Rebecca Burns (Ballymena) – Kata Event - Gold Medal; Andrew O’Neill (Ballymena) – Kata Event - Silver Medal; Jamie Surgeoner (Ballymena) Sparring Event – Bronze Medal; Ruairi Mc Aleese(Portglenone) Kata Event – Silver Medal; Vincent Mc Allister(Portglenone) Sparring Event – Bronze Medal and Gerard Adams (Portglenone) Sparring Event – Bronze Medal.
