Armoy Road Races have announced that one of the North West’s leading waste management company’s as title sponsor for this year’s event.

RiverRidge Recycling will sponsor the event for the third time and will work with Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club (AMRRC) to put on what promises to be another slickly run line-up of quality racing.

In just six short years the Armoy Road Races have become a mainstay in the biking calendar with thousands flocking to see big name stars take on the country’s leading national road race.

Bill Kennedy, Clerk of the Course at AMRRC said: “In this our sixth year, we are delighted to have RiverRidge Recycling as main sponsor. Feedback from both riders and spectators last year has been fantastic and we are well on our way to organising another great event.

“Through hard work and determination, we’ve brought Armoy to a global standard and we couldn’t have done it without the support of companies like RiverRidge that have not only supported us but the local community as a whole.

“Competitors, traders and spectators are all gearing up for this year, and we’ve already got some treats in store.

“The calibre of the competitors already signed up is phenomenal and is a testament to the whole team – sponsors and club members. I would, though, offer some advice to those entering as we had to turn racers away last year so please do get your entry in early!”

“I am confident we can build on our success to date and that the RiverRidge Recycling ‘Race of the Legends’ is shaping up to be the best yet,” he said.

RiverRidge Recycling, a leading waste management company in the North West, has a long affiliation with road racing and is an active member of the local community, delivering their ethos of commitment to the environment and community through practical activities and sponsoring events.

Brett Ross, Managing Director of RiverRidge Recycling said; “I have to say that until three/four years ago I wasn’t much of motorbike fan but year after year I now look forward the excitement, buzz and true road racing that Armoy brings to all at the end of July.

“Last year’s event was just spectacular and there is no a doubt that RiverRidge Recycling is exceptionally proud to be the title sponsor of the Armoy Road Races. It’s an integral part our event calendar and I’m delighted that we can once again assist the Club and the local community.

“I’ve already spoken with the very committed club members who work tirelessly to bring us a great day’s racing and I’m excited about some of the small but effective changes that they have in store. This is shaping up to be the best Armoy road race to date – and I didn’t think that was possible!”

Armoy Road Races are also sponsored by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and Moyle District Council. Bike Week 2014 is from 20th – 26th July.
