Successful Dengie Qualifier at RDA Coleraine

LAST Thursday, January 10th, saw the Route Hunt Branch of the Pony Club host a Dengie Showjumping qualifier at the RDA Coleraine.

Some riders took the opportunity of jumping in the warm up rounds to prepare for what was to be a hotly contested evening. The serious competition then began with the Junior Dengie and with a strong entry and clear rounds going through to the jump off the younger riders excelled with the top four riders qualifying for the area final.

The Senior Dengie was also well supported, with ten riders each competing for one of the four qualifying places the jump off proved to provide plenty of excitement. The Route Hunt Branch would like to thank Course Builder Janet Curry, Judge Philip White and Artemis photography for their support at the event along with all those who assisted and competed on the night.

Results:

Junior Dengie

1st Shauna McVeigh on Burren Valley Flyer; 2nd Toni McClenaghan on Annie Mac; 3rd Niamh Carr on Henry; 4th= Wendy Anderson on Cosmic Chaos and Ellie Johnston on Dun N Dusted.

Two local riders from the Route Hunt Branch of the Pony Club, Rosie Alcorn and Eimear McMahon, travelled to England on 4th January and successfully completed their AH test. This is the highest horse care standard achievable in the Pony Club and the branch would like to congratulate both on their success.
