Walker strolls to win at Bushfoot

Des Walker took the honours at Bushfoot Golf Club on Saturday with a score of 42 points.

The fourteen handicapper scored consistently over both nines, 21 points for each, knocking in birdies at the par three eleventh and the par four seventeenth to finish three points clear of the rest.

Best of the rest was another Walker, Brian this time, who scored 39 points from his mark of twelve. Brian had an ordinary enough opening nine with just 17 points on his card, but went up a gear or two coming back. His birdie three at thirteen boosted the card and, with just three shots being dropped to par he grabbed another 22 points for his runner up spot.

Stevie Glass was just a point back on 38 off his handicap of eleven. A good front nine with a birdie two at the second gave Stevie 21 points but the tenth gave him none at all. He ran out with 17 more for third place.
